Jan 1     Paul and I went to St. Mary's church this morning. All home this evening. This night there gathered in here a crowd of young folks to play our new piano. Fair cloudy.

Jan 2     Nothing done today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 3     Nothing done today. I went to Hayden this evening to attend Farmer's Meeting. Cold cloudy snowy day.

Jan 4     We are all home today. I could not start the car this morning. So we didn't go to church. This evening Alvin Marsh and I went to Indianapolis to attend the Meeting of Farmer's Federation tomorrow. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 5     I am at Indianapolis today at Federation Meeting. We come home tonight. Fair cold day.

Jan 6     Paul and I went to Dan Noon's sale today. I bought 165 shocks of corn and fodder. Cold cloudy with rain and sleet tonight.

Jan 7     Nothing done this morning. This evening Paul and I hauled out manure. Cloudy cool day.

Jan 8     I was at town all day on a telephone hearing before the Telephone Commission. Cold rainy snowy day.

Jan 9     Nothing done today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 10     Paul is hauling out manure today. I went to town this evening. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 11     The children and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Fair cold day.

Jan 12     Nothing done today. I went to Seymour this evening to see about a young Jersey bull and found one but did not buy it. Pleasant cool day.

Jan 13     This morning Paul and I helped Stewart Euler butcher 3 hogs. This evening we got in a few shocks of corn. Fair cool day.

Jan 14     Today we all went to Emma E's and helped finish the butchering. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 15     This morning Paul and I got load of corn and fodder up on Noon's which I bought at the sale. This evening Bess and I went to town. I attended a Federation Meeting. Fair cool day.

Jan 16     Alvin Marsh and I attended a Federation meeting at Seymour today. Warm cloudy, some rain.

Jan 17     We all went over to Paw's for a surprise dinner. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 18     We all went over to Paw's today. It was a surprise dinner on the Folks. Several of the neighbors came in and brought their dinner. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 19     This morning I went to town. This evening we are shredding corn here. Fair cool day.

Jan 20     Today we are shredding corn for J. G. Marsh. Warm cloudy with rain tonight.

Jan 21     Today I made a new hog loading chute. Going to ship the hogs tomorrow. Cloudy and cold.

Jan 22     Today I hauled 50 head of hogs to town and shipped to Indianapolis. Very bad day...rain sleet all day. Roads very slick.

Jan 23     I am at Indianapolis stock yards today but the hogs got there to late to sell, so had to stay over. Rain sleet.

Jan 24     At Indianapolis stock yards this morning. My hogs sold for $15.75 per hwt. I came home on noon train. Fair colder and very slick and icy.

Jan 25     All home today. Fair and cold. The roads are very slick with ice and sleet.

Jan 26     This morning I went over to Paw's and listed his sale bill. This evening Bess and I went to town. Pleasant day.

Jan 27     Today Bess and I went to Tom Stapel's sale and I bought a fine big Jack. Paw helped move a family on the Otis's Farm. Warm cloudy day.

Jan 28     This morning I went over to Paw's after load of wood. This evening I went to town. Paul is hauling out manure. Fair cool day.

Jan 29     This morning Paul hauled load of hogs to town for Ed Stewart. I am doing some work on the corn shredder. This evening we shredded corn for J. G. Marsh. Fair cool day.

Jan 30     This morning we finished shredding for J. G. Marsh and moved to Lawrence Stewart's and shredded the balance of evening. Pleasant day.

Jan 31     Today we shredded for L. Stewart. Cloudy cold day.

Feb 1     Paul and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Feb 2     Today we finished shredding corn for Lawrence Stewart and moved home. Fair warm day.

Feb 3     Today Paul and I went to T. J. Staple's after Jack which I bought at sale for $240.00 cash. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 4     Nothing done this morning. Bess and I went to town this evening. Rainy cold day.

Feb 5     We butchered 4 hogs today. Fair cool day.

Feb 6     Paw & Maw were over and helped finish the butchering. Also Emma and Stewart helped and Luela (Lurla) Boner helped. Warm cloudy day.

Feb 7     This morning I went to town and this evening I went to Weston to a public ditch meeting. The tax payers along the creek want to dredge the creek. Cool cloudy day.

Feb 8     I went to church this morning. Paul is sick with the measles, also Harold. Alice, Charles and Stewart are up again. All home this evening. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 9     This morning I went to Father L. T. Widerin's funeral. He died last Tuesday, 3rd. Nothing but chores done this evening. Pleasant day.

Feb 10     Today I went to town after fencing and feed. Pleasant day.

Feb 11     This morning I went over to Paw's to help get his implements ready for the sale tomorrow. Pleasant day.

Feb 12     Today I sold Paw out at public sale. Had a nice day and a good crowd. Everything sold well. Over $2,600.00.

Feb 13     Today I went back over to Paw's to help load stock and things that sold yesterday. I bought 50 bu. oats for seed. Fair cool, the roads are very bad.

Feb 14     Bess and I went to town today. Cold snowy blustery day.

Feb 15     We are all home all day. Paw & Maw and Minnie Kellermeyer were over for dinner. Very cold blustery day.

Feb 16     Bess and I went to town today. I went with Paw on his land deal. He makes a deed to Mr. Laudermilt. Fair cold day.

Feb 17     Today I hauled wood from Paw's which I bought at the sale. Fair warmer day.

Feb 18     Today Paul and I hauled home 2 big loads of corn and fodder for shredding. Cool cloudy day.

Feb 19     This morning we hauled home load of corn and fodder. This evening we are shredding the corn that I bought at Noon's sale, about 100 bu. Warm cloudy day.

Feb 20     Today we finished shredding corn. Warm cloudy day with rain about 3 o'clock.

Feb 21     Bess and I went to town today. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 22     We are all home today. Cloudy cool day. The roads are very bad now.

Feb 23     We tried to haul out manure this morning but the ground is so soft we quit. Cool cloudy day.

Feb 24     Today I hauled load of hogs to town for Forest Lattimore. Cold blustery day.

Feb 25     Today Paul and I cleaned the cow stable and put on the potato patch. Cold Blustery day.

Feb 26     Paul and I went to Ed Nordlah's sale today. Cold blustery day.

Feb 27     Today Paul and I hauled 4 loads of wood and lumber from Paw's. Fair cool day.

Feb 28     This morning we hauled home 2 loads of wood. This evening Bess and I went to town. Paul hauled out some manure. Cold blustery snowy day.

Feb 29     Paul, Alice and I went to St. Mary's church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cold day.

Mar 1     Today I went to Commissioner's Court in behalf of our pike. Pleasant day.

Mar 2     Today I went to Federation of Farmer's Meeting. Sade and Minnie came out with me last evening and went back with me this morning. Pleasant day.

Mar 3     This morning Paul hauled home load of wood. This evening Bess and I took 18 hens to Hayden. Pleasant day.

Mar 4     Nothing done today. Rainy cold day.

Mar 5     Today I went over to Paw's. The man that bought his farm moved in today. I heard the man that came with his car of stock and goods. Cold blustery day.

Mar 6     Bess and I went to town today. Paw & Maw came here tonight. They have all their goods packed ready to move. Cold blustery day.

Mar 7     We are all home today. Cold blustery day.

Mar 8     We hauled home 2 loads of wood today. Fair cold day.

Mar 9     I went to town this morning. Paul hauled home the last load of wood this morning. Paw is helping him. This evening we hauled manure on the garden.

Mar 10     Nothing done this morning. Paw & Maw left here today. They have been here since last Saturday. This evening I went over to Paw's and loaded a load of furniture and pulled into Derringer's barn, ready to pull it to Seymour tomorrow. Cloudy cool rainy tonight.

Mar 11     I went to Columbus, Indiana today to make out my income tax report. Cold cloudy rainy day.

Mar 12     Nothing but chores done today. The creek is all over the Bottoms today. Cloudy cool day.

Mar 13     This morning we took load of corn to Henry B. and had it ground for feed. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cold day. The roads are very bad.

Mar 14     Paul and Paw walked to church this morning the roads are so bad. All home this evening. Alvin and Grace Marsh were over this evening. Also Fisher's young folks were here. Pleasant day.

Mar 15     Paul and I went to town after load of feed and 2,000 shingles to roof the granary. Warm cloudy day. Rain tonight.

Mar 16     Nothing but chores done today. Rain last night and today. Put the creek all over the Bottoms.

Mar 17     Today we are repairing some fence around the yard. Pleasant day.

Mar 18     Today we moved Paw's house furniture to Seymour. Pleasant day but is raining tonight.

Mar 19     Rainy day. The creek is out in the Bottoms again today. 3rd time this month. Nothing done but chores.

Mar 20     We went to town today. Pleasant day.

Mar 21     We are all home today. Ed Stewart and family were here for dinner. Pleasant day.

Mar 22     This morning we went to mill after lumber. This evening Bess and I went to town after few sacks cement. Pleasant day.

Mar 23     George Baker was here today and helped to make a Jack pit for breeding. Pleasant day.

Mar 24     Paul and I hauled out manure today. This afternoon a boy named Brancie Bright began to work by the month. Late this evening Bess and I went to town, took Stewart to the doctor. Pleasant day.

Mar 25     Paul and Brancie are hauling out manure today. I am doing repair work around. Alice's 12 birthday. Pleasant day.

Mar 26     The boys are hauling out manure. I am fixing the manure spreader. Went to town after repairs. The boys broke it yesterday. My 41th birthday.

Mar 27     This morning the boys hauled out manure. This evening Paul had load of corn ground. Brancie went with Bess and me to town. Fair cool day.

Mar 28     We are all home today. Rainy cool day. This morning I went over to see Charles Woodward. He is very sick.

Mar 29     Paul began to disk for oats today. Brancie is hauling out manure this evening. He didn't work this morning. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cool and very windy.

Mar 30     We are disking and harrowing today and Stewart Euler is drilling oats today. Pleasant day.

Mar 31     We finished sowing oats this morning and helped Stewart Euler sow this evening. Bess and Paul went to last day of school today at Hayden. Pleasant day.

Apr 1     This morning we built a chute and rung 68 shoats. This evening I went to town. Brancie is hauling out manure. Warm cloudy day with little rain last night.

Apr 2     The boys are hauling out manure today. I am helping some. Fair cool day.

Apr 3     Bracie is helping Stewart E. sow oats today. Paul took load of corn to mill and had it ground this morning. This evening Bess and I went to town. Fair cool with rain tonight.

Apr 4     We are all home today. Rainy cool day.

Apr 5     I went to town this morning. This evening Stewart & Emma, Bess & I went over to see Aunt Jane Hartwell. She is poorly. The boys are doing little chores today. Cloudy cold day.

Apr 6     Nothing done today. Cold snow and rain fall today.

Apr 7     Nothing but chores done today. Cloudy cold day.

Apr 8     Today we went to John Adolph's sale. I sold him out. Pleasant day.

Apr 9     We are setting posts for a new garden fence today. Paul went to town this evening after fencing for the garden. Fair cool day.

Apr 10     This morning we are cleaning up some old apple trees and burning them. This evening Bess and I went to town. The boys took load corn to mill and had grain for feed. Fair cool day.

Apr 11     Today Alice and I went to Greensburg to visit Helmich's. I went to look at a young Jersey bull. Pleasant day.

Apr 12     Nothing done today. Rain snowy day. Brancie isn't here today.

Apr 13     This morning we are repairing Jack & Jess' stable. This evening we went to town. Bracie isn't here today. Fair cool day.

Apr 14     Paul and I are working on the garden fence today. Bracie isn't here. Fair cool day.

Apr 15     Bracie is here part of the day. Paul and him hauled the straw stack in the barn. I helped them some and worked on the garden fence some. Pleasant day.

Apr 16     Nothing done today. Rainy cool day. Brancie is gone north for a few days.

Apr 17     This morning Paul and I took load of corn to mill and had ground. This evening Bess and I went to town. Fair cool day.

Apr 18     The children and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cool day.

Apr 19     Nothing but chores done today. Rainy cold day.

Apr 20     Nothing done today. Some rain today. The creek is very high today.

Apr 21     Nothing much done today. I went to town twice today. Fair cool day.

Apr 22     Nothing but chores done today except we went to town this morning after a small poultry house which J. H. Miller built. Pleasant day.

Apr 23     This morning Paul and I set out some fruit trees. This evening Paul is doing some painting. I am repairing the stable. Fair this morning. Cloudy this evening with little cold rain.

Apr 24     This morning we took load of corn to have ground for the hogs. This evening we went to town. Fair cool day.

Apr 25     This morning the children and I went to confession. All home the rest of the day. Fair cool day.

Apr 26     This morning we went to church. Alice was confirmed at 7 o'clock mass. Bess and I went to town this evening. Cold and some rain today.

Apr 27     Today Paul and I sprayed the orchard. At noon today was a burial of Mr. H. Child's or Live Rapp's mother. Bess and Granny and I went to the burial. Cool cloudy.

Apr 28     Paul is hauling out manure today. I plowed the garden and part of the potato patch. Cloudy cool day.

Apr 29     Paul is hauling out manure. I finished plowing potato patch. Cloudy cool with little rain this evening.

Apr 30     This morning Bess and I went to Mrs. Jane Weaver's funeral. Burial over on Six Mile.

May 1     This morning we planted potatoes. This evening Bess and I went to town. Paul took load of corn to have ground for hogs. Fair cool day.

May 2     We went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I and the little fellows went to Seymour to see Paw & Maw. Cool cloudy day.

May 3     This morning I went to Commissioner's Court. Paul is working the potato patch. This evening we planted potatoes. Fair cool day.

May 4     Paul began to plow for corn in the Betsy Bottomss. I went to Democratic Primary at Hayden this morning. This evening I planted some potatoes. Pleasant day.

May 5     We are plowing for corn today. Fair cool day.

May 6     We are plowing for corn today. Fair cool day.

May 7     Paul and Mr. Luke's(?) are plowing today. I am repairing the pasture fence and turned the cattle on pasture. Fair warmer day.

May 8     Paul is plowing today. I took load of corn to mill and had it ground for feed. Bess and I went to town this evening. Pleasant day.

May 9     We went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I went to Mr. Neale's funeral. He was buried at N. Vernon. Pleasant day.

May 10     Paul and Theodore Boner are plowing today. I went to town this morning. This evening I went to George Baker's after Joe. He is going to work for us awhile. Pleasant day.

May 11     Joe Baker began to work for us today. Paul and him are plowing. Pleasant day with rain tonight.

May 12     Today I hauled and shipped 68 hogs to Indianapolis today. Had them hauled to town in Gregory's truck. I am in Indianapolis tonight. Cold rainy day.

May 13     In Indianapolis with load of hogs today. 68 hogs sold for $15.35 per hundred wt. Came home tonight. The creek was out of the bank last night. Fair cool day.

May 14     We are putting up new yard fence today. I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

May 15     This morning we are stretching the garden fence. This evening Bess and I went to town. Joe Baker went home this evening. Fair cool day.

May 16     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Lawrence and Maggie and Emmie are over. Fair cool day.

May 17     Rainy cold day. We shelled seed corn this morning. Sprouted potatoes this evening and doing some other little chores.

May 18     Rainy cool day. Doing some chores. Bess and I went to town this evening.

May 19     Some rain today. We are repairing some fence and gates when we can work.

May 20     This morning we took the bull and one cow and 2 calves to town. Shipped through Marsh. This evening we put up two new gates in the barnyard. Cloudy warm day.

May 21     Today we are plowing the orchard for rape. Fair warm day.

May 22     I went to Greensburg after a fine Jersey bull today. Paul and Joe Baker sowed and harrowed in the rape. Fair warm day.

May 23     We went to church this morning. This evening Alice and Charles made their communion today. Warm sultry with a rain tonight.

May 24     Paul is plowing and cutting stocks today. Joe and I hauled drift and chunks all day. Warm and threatening weather.

May 25     The boys began to plant corn today. Harrowing and planting the Betsy Bottoms. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair warm day.

May 26     The boys finished planting the Betsy this morning. Began in 15 Acre field this evening. I took load of corn to Henry's and had ground for feed. Pleasant day.

May 27     This morning the boys finished planting the 15 Acre field and began to plow in Long Bottoms. Henry Burgermeier tried to plow for me with his tractor but wouldn't work so I went to town this evening and ordered a Fordsen tractor. Pleasant day.

May 28     We are plowing and harrowing and planting in Long Bottoms today. This morning Wetzel brought a new Fordsen tractor down and started it plowing. Plowed about 7 acres today. Pleasant day.

May 29     Today Paul is plowing with the tractor and Joe & I are harrowing and planting. Pleasant day.

May 30     This morning I went to confession with the K of C at St. Mary's. Paul and Alice and Joe went to Corners. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

May 31     Rain some this morning. The boys finished plowing the Long Bottoms. This evening Paul began to plow with the tractor in the Sullivan Bottoms. Joe Stewart and Sade came today and brought Uncle Jim Stewart from Missouri with them. All here tonight.

Jun 1     We are plowing, harrowing and planting today.

Jun 2     Same as yesterday. Fair cool day.

Jun 3     Plowing, harrowing and planting today. This morning I took Aunt Jane Hartwell to Vernon. This morning the Court appointed John Cosell(?) as her guardian. Cloudy cool day.

Jun 4     We are plowing some between showers. Bess and I went to town this evening. Cloudy cool and some rain.

Jun 5     We are harrowing and planting today. Paul finished plowing today. Pleasant day.

Jun 6     We had a house full of company today. All of the Stewart folks were here for dinner today. Jim Stewart from Missouri is here on a visit. Pleasant day.

Jun 7     We finished planting corn today. Paul is plowing with tractor for Henry Burgmeyer. Pleasant day.

Jun 8     We are all helping H. Burgmeyer plant corn. Paul finished his plowing this evening. Alice and I went to town right after dinner. Pleasant day.

Jun 9     This morning Paul began to tractor plow for Alvin Marsh. Joe and Charles are rolling and harrowing corn. Fair hot day.

Jun 10     Paul is plowing for F. A. Marsh today. Joe is plowing potatoes this morning. This evening Joe and Charles are rolling and harrowing corn. Hot sultry day.

Jun 11     All same as yesterday. Hot sultry day.

Jun 12     This morning Paul finished plowing for Alvin M. and began for Raymond Marsh. Joe rolled corn this morning. Nothing done this evening. Bess and I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Jun 13     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. We all went to children's night tonight. Hot sultry day.

Jun 14     Paul is plowing for Marsh's today. Joe and I began to plow corn for first time. Hot sultry day with a good rain tonight.

Jun 15     Paul is plowing for Marsh's today. Too wet to plow corn so Bess and I went to town this morning. I paid for my tractor. This evening Joe and I fixed fence out of the creek. Hot sultry day.

Jun 16     Paul is plowing for Marsh's today. Joe and I are plowing corn today. Fair warm day.

Jun 17     Paul finished plowing for Marsh's and brought the engine home tonight. Joe and I plowed corn today. Cloudy & very cool day.

Jun 18     This morning Paul is hauling out manure. Joe is harrowing corn. I planted some popcorn also corn & beans. This evening we all peeled willows along the creek. Fair cool day.

Jun 19     Joe and Charles are rolling and harrowing today. Paul went to Seymour to see his grandparents. Bess and I went to town this evening. We all went to the show tonight. Fair cool day.

Jun 20     We went to church this morning. This evening we went to the show at the Jennings. Cloudy with little rain.

Jun 21     Joe tried to harrow corn this morning but rained him out. This evening we started to roof the west side of granary. Cloudy cool with some rain.

Jun 22     This morning I took 2 calves to town to ship. Joe and Paul finished roofing the granary today. Cloudy cool with little rain.

Jun 23     Frank Baker & family are here today. Frank & I went to town this morning. This evening Joe laid by the potatoes. I harrowed corn and Paul went fishing with Frank Baker. Fair cool day.

Jun 24     Today we are plowing corn with 3 teams. Fair cool day.

Jun 25     Plowing corn with 3 teams today. Fair warm day.

Jun 26     This morning we all plowed corn. This evening Paul and Joe went to fishing. Bess and I went to town. Fair hot day.

Jun 27     We went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I went to Baker's. Uncle George is sick. Fair warm day.

Jun 28     Joe not here this week. Paul and I are plowing corn today. Fair very warm.

Jun 29     Paul & I are plowing corn today. Also Bess and I went to town late this evening. Fair warm day.

Jun 30     I am grading roads with the tractor today. Paul hauled out some manure. Warm cloudy with shower of rain this evening.

Jul 1     Today Paul hauled out some manure. I cut some clover hay this morning. This evening we hauled in load of hay. I went to Hayden this evening. Fair hot day.

Jul 2     Today we have the paperhangers here. I had to get them this morning and take them back this evening. Hot sultry day.

Jul 3     This morning we began to cut wheat. This evening Bess and I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Jul 4     We went to church this morning. Then went to Lawrence Stewart's for dinner. Fair hot day.

Jul 5     Nothing done today. We all went to Seymour to Paw's and to celebrate the Fourth of July. Then tonight we went to Four Corners to picnic. Louise, Ray Nevit and Paw came home with us tonight. Fair hot day. Cloudy tonight.

Jul 6     After a week Joe Baker is back at work today. Paul & Joe are cutting wheat. I went with Paw to town this morning. Also took a calf to ship. This evening I took Paw and Ray and Louise to the train at Hayden, warm & cloudy little rain.

Jul 7     This morning we finished cutting wheat. This evening we plowed corn for 3 times and maybe the last time. Fair cool day.

Jul 8     We are plowing corn with 3 plows today. 3 plowing. Bess and I took can of cream to town at noon. Warm & threatening little shower.

Jul 9     Same as yesterday with 3 plows. Fair warm day.

Jul 10     This morning we all plowed corn. Joe also plowed this evening. The rest of us all went to the Circus at N. Vernon. Warm cloudy day.

Jul 11     We all went to church this morning. All home this evening. George Baker's are here this evening. Fair warm day.

Jul 12     Paul & Joe are plowing corn this morning. I am hoeing weeds. This evening Paul began to lay by corn. Joe and I began to cut oats. Bill Boner helped shock oats. Fair warm day.

Jul 13     Bess and I took can of cream to town this morning. Paul finished laying by corn in Betsy Bottoms today. Joe and the boys hoed weeds this morning. This evening we cut oats. Bill Boner & Joe are shocking. Hot sultry day.

Jul 14     Nothing but chores done today. Had a good soaking rain last night and this morning. Rain today.

Jul 15     This morning we hauled out chaff from the barn. This evening Joe and I finished cutting oats. Paul and the boys hoed weeds. Warm cloudy day.

Jul 16     Today we are hoeing weeds and laying by corn with 2 plows. Hot sultry day.

Jul 17     Today we hoed weeds & Joe finished laying by corn in Long Bottoms. Hot sultry day.

Jul 18     Bess and I and Paul went to Saleda(?) to Steve Ross'. Forest Lattimore and family and Ed Beaty & family also went for the day. Cool cloudy. Some rain this evening.

Jul 19     Paul & Joe laid by corn in Sullivan Bottoms. I began to mow hay this morning. Also took Uncle James Stewart to the train. He is going back to Stone County, Missouri. He has been here for 6 weeks. Cloudy cool day.

Jul 20     Paul and Joe are laying by corn this morning. I mowed hay. This evening we put up 4 loads of hay. Fair hot day.

Jul 21     Paul & Joe are laying by corn this morning. I finished mowing hay. This evening we finished putting up hay. 4 loads. Hot sultry day.

Jul 22     This morning the boys finished laying by corn. This evening they hauled in 2 loads of oats. Hot sultry day.

Jul 23     Today we hoed weeds. Except this evening Bess and I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Jul 24     This morning we hoed weeds. This evening the boys cleaned the stables and hauled it out. I cleaned the granary. Hot sultry threatening day.

Feb 26     This morning we hauled log to mill and brought home load of lumber and load of wood. This evening I went to town after Sade. Cloudy cool with some rain. This evening I am writing this with practically a broken wrist, which I received after dinner, cranking the car. Dr. Stem says it is about broken.

Feb 28     This morning I sold 4 cows to Amford(?) Hausperger and helped drive them as far as Glione's School This evening I hauled a log to mill and brought the lumber back. Pleasant day.

    Rev. J. Swarthout and wife and Mrs. Roy Swarthout attended the funeral on Tuesday afternoon of Mrs. Swarthout's aged aunt, Mrs. Wm. Stewart, who was almost 82 years of age, suffered a fall fourteen weeks ago, and has gradually failed since. She died in her old home, occupied by her daughter, Mrs. Joe Bertram and family. Mrs. Stewart was the last survivor of her generation of the Spencer family, for whom Spencer Township was named. Rev. Fred Young of Westport, was assisted in the funeral service by Rev. Holmes, of Vernon.

Sep 29     This morning Paul disked the orchard and Paw drilled it in rye. I went to town after tractor oil. Another heavy rain after dinner. Paw and I cleaned the cistern this evening.

Sep 30     Nothing done today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Oct 1     Today we dug the potatoes and sowed ground in rye. Potatoes are very poor. Fair cool day.

Oct 2     After two weeks Paw & Maw went back to Seymour. Paul took them home from church. We were home balance of day. Dr. Rooth was here this evening and operated on Mabel cow for rupture. Fair cool day.

Oct 3     Today we filled Wm Hanes silo. All done filling silos now. Fair cool day.

Oct 4     Today I attended Farmer's Federation meeting at town. Fair cool day.

Oct 5     Nothing done today. Sam Spencer & wife stayed here last night. This evening the county agent conducted a Poultry Culling Demonstration. Fair cool day.

Oct 6     Today I took load of wheat to Seymour. Fair cool day.

Oct 7     This morning I took load of wheat to town. Nothing done this evening. Rainy cold afternoon.

Oct 8     Cloudy cold day. This morning I got in 2 loads of feed. Then cleaned out the stables late this evening. Bess and I went to town.

Oct 9     Part of us went to church this morning. Alice is sick in bed. This evening I went to Seymour after Paw & Maw. Fair cool day.

Oct 10     This morning Paw & Paul husked the first load of corn for crib. This evening Paul began to disk wheat ground. Fair cool day. Today I began to work on pike as Superintendent of Culverts and Stone.

Oct 11     Today Paul is disking for wheat and Paw is cutting stocks. I am on the pike.

Oct 12     I am working on pike today. Paul and Paw are working wheat ground. Fair cool day.

Oct 13     I am working on pike today. Paul & Paw finished the wheat ground this morning and began to sow after dinner. Had our first killing frost last night. Fair cool day.
